LACUNZA
Our center is located in San Sebastián, 10 minutes from the city center on foot and 1 minute on foot from the train and bus stations and from Tabakalera – the cultural center of the city. Our school is
in front of Cristina Enea, the largest park in San Sebastian.
Our school was founded in 1989, although the Lacunza group was born in 1956 with English classes for local people.
The school has 17 classrooms, a room for multiple activities, a library, a space with coffee machines, snacks and board games. All classrooms are heated/air conditioned. In addition, we have a terrace where students can study or rest in the sun.
The school is attended by students from more than 40 countries, from 6 to 65 years old.
In addition to Spanish classes, the school organizes various cultural and linguistic activities during the week (surfing classes, yoga, cooking, hiking, Spanish workshops, language exchanges, museum visits… and much more)
The school is accredited by the Cervantes Institute and is a member of International House, IALC and FEDELE.
Training program
All teachers at the school have received excellent training and have been selected for their academic merit. The teachers are native Spanish speakers, have graduated in Philology (or equivalent) and many have completed a Masters in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and International House’s excellent teacher training course. All teachers undergo continuous refresher courses and additional training.
The school forms small groups of up to 12 people. The minimum age is 17 years in adult courses and 6 years in summer courses for juniors. Training takes place throughout the year for adults and in the summer for juniors.
• The Intensive Course includes 20 lessons of 45 minutes per week, lasting from 1 week. Groups have a maximum of 12 people.
• The super-intensive course includes 25 or 30 lessons of 45 minutes per week, with a duration from 1 week. Groups have a maximum
of 12 people.
• The DELE exam preparation course consists of 25 lessons of 45 minutes per week, in small groups.
• The Business Spanish Course consists of 25 lessons of 45 minutes per week, in small groups.
• For seniors General intensive course of 20 lessons of 45 minutes in general groups + 10 lessons in a mini group with people of the same age related to cultural events, dance classes, excursions… Maximum 12 people per general group and 8 in small groups. The course is designed from 1 week.
